We're Aimee and Joel.

We're both qualified counsellors, trained in the person-centred approach to therapy.

We're registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which is the largest professional body supporting counselling in the UK. We are fully insured, registered with the Information Commissioners Office, and have Enhanced DBS checks in place.

Experience

Experience of counselling in educational settings - schools, colleges, and university students (of all ages).

Training and experience in offering counselling and psychotherapy, completing risk assessments, ensuring safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Delivering counselling sessions within the charity sector at advice centres and supporting transgender and questioning people.

We have great experience of working with all kinds of clients and issues, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Panic attacks

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder

  • Depression

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Managing emotions and behaviour

  • Addictions and substance misuse

  • Low self esteem

  • Psychotic experience

  • Bereavement

  • Survivors of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse

  • Relationship problems (although we are not currently able to offer couple's counselling)

  • Sexual problems

  • Sexual orientation

  • Gender identity, including being trans, non-binary, non-conforming

Aimee also has a particular speciality in working with under-18s.

Joel also teaches counselling at a local FE College.
